About Us

We live seven kilometres north of Glenorchy and near the convergence of the Rees and Paradise Valleys putting The Paradise Trail Tour right in our back yard.

About Matt

Matt holds a Diploma in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and has an extensive background in Outdoor Instruction and guiding. His last cycle guiding job was on the famous 'Death Road' in Bolivia (he hasn't told his Mum about that).

One of Matt's biggest adventures was riding his bike seven thousand kilometres across South East Asia, visiting Laos, Camobodia, Thailand, Burma and Vietnam.

With an obvious love for bikes and guiding, starting a bicycle tour company was a natural progression. When he's not out riding his bike Matt likes to eat sugar in any form , read a book in his hammock and relax in front of Netflix with a nice cold beer.

About Kate - Nickname Katiepie

Kate holds a Medical Imaging degree & worked as a radiographer for a long time before finding her dream job of cycle tour guide.  Kate recently won the 'Stay, Play Rural' category of the Enterprising Rural Women Awards.

Kate loves the Wakatipu region and thinks having The Paradise Trail as an office is pretty damn cool.

After hours Kates interests include baking for Matt, mountain biking, yoga and listening to 80's pop at full volume (much to Matt's disapproval).

Although we may both sound pretty active, some days we both enjoy nothing more than just lying in the hammock, looking at the views with a cold beer or a glass of wine in hand.

About Laurence

Laurence is our latest recruit at Revolution Tours, having moved to Glenorchy from Auckland with the view of retirement! Yeah right.  We soon convinced him to join our team as support vehicle driver, gopher, barista and pretty much everything in between.  With a long career as a chef he and his lovely wife Carol prepare your dinner on night three at Paradise Homestead.  He's pretty handy with a camera too, having taken all of our photos for our website.  He also runs photographic tours in Paradise www.paradisepictures.co.nz
